A molded commutator comprises: a plurality of commutator segments 1a which are arranged circumferentially such that a circumferential gap 10 is defined between opposed side faces of neighboring ones of the commutator segments, with a groove 6 being formed on the opposed side faces of the neighboring ones of the commutator segments; the commutator segments having leg portions 2, respectively; an insulating member 7 which is fitted into the groove so as to span the neighboring ones of the commutator segments; and a molding material 4 for holding the leg portions of the commutator segments. <IMAGE>
