PURPOSE:To accurately detect the position of rear wheels with simple construction by providing identifying parts having different reflection factor of light on the outer circumferential face of the middle part of a rod, and fitting a reflection type photo-interrupter on the position opposing to the identifying parts. CONSTITUTION:An identification ring 19 painted by different color on the right and left outer circumferential face in the axial direction are mounted on the left side shaft part of a rack bar 10. Meanwhile, a reflection type photointerrupter 20 provided on the extreme end with a light transmitting element and a light receiving element facing to the interior of a housing 9, is fitted on the left and rear wall part of the housing 9 with screws. The photo- interrupter 20 is connected to a control device 15, and the detected signal is sent to the control device 15. The border line between colors of the identification ring 19 is instituted to position in front of the photo-interrupter 20, in the condition in which rear wheels 11 and the rack bar 10 are on the neutral position. Consequently, the border line of the identification ring 19 is read with the photo- interrupter 20, and the neutral position of the rear wheels 11 can be detected. |
