PURPOSE:To obtain disazo dye compound useful to obtain an ink which is excellent in fixing properties, stability and safety and gives a plain paper a printed image that has a high image density, is clear, causes no indeterminate or nonstandard blot, and is excellent in water-resistance by choosing a specific disazo compound. CONSTITUTION:Chosen is a disazo dye compound (e.g. a compound of formula II) represented by formula I [wherein Y is a six-membered ring containing 2 or 3 Ns; X is a binding group for joining Y to the dye molecule; R1 is -N(H)m(CH2CH2OH)2-m; R2 is H, OH, NH2, CN, =O or -N(H)n(CH2CH2OH)2-n; R3 is H, OH, NH2, CN or =O; i, j, k, m and n are each 0 or 1; and M is Na, K or ammonium]. |
