PURPOSE:To execute switching of an active window even when a plotting command is being executed. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted of a CRT controller 71 for driving a display screen of a CRT 70 into plural windows, an information active window number 23 for showing which an operable screen is in the divided screens, a digitizer 60 for rewriting it, and a plotting command 16 for executing a screen operation command 54 by receiving an input from a keyboard 50, and generating graphic data in accordance with a prescribed event generated by the digitizer 60, and provided with functions of a plotting area processing 66 for extracting the prescribed event from a signal from the digitizer 60, and giving a timing for obtaining a coordinate to the plotting command 16, and the screen operation command 54 for extracting XY coordinate SW information 63, and rewriting active window information.
