<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image of high image quality by measuring the density of a fixed patch used for image density measurement, without the output of a sheet specially provided for the density measurement, and by reflecting the result of the measurement. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device has a reference toner image forming means that forms a reference toner images of different colors, including a reference toner image in a predetermined color for density measurement which is fixed together with a color toner image. The device also has a first density measuring means that measures the density of toner while the toner is in a state of powder, and a second density measuring means that measures the density of the fixed reference toner image in the predetermined color. The device further has an image processing condition control means that controls color image forming conditions for the colors based upon the result of the first density measurement while reflecting a difference in the result of the density measurement of the reference toner image in the predetermined color between the first and second density measuring means onto colors other than the predetermined color. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
