PURPOSE:To provide a processing method of a photosensitive planographic printing plate by which hazardness of handling such as erosion of hands and loss of eyesignt, etc., in a developing process is improved and processability of a waste liquid for discharging is improved. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive planographic printing plate has a photosensitive compsn. layer. The layer contains (a) o-naphthoquinone diazide compd., (b) condensate resin containing condensed units of aromatic compd. having carboxyl groups with aldehydes or ketones, and (c) plasticizer or org. acid or acid anhydride. In the processing method, this photosensitive planographic printing plate is developed with a water-base alkali developer of pH<=12 substantially containing no solvent.
