PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image pickup device from which a still image with high quality is obtained at a low cost without a new complicated device configuration by picking up the same object with plural different magnification factors, converting the images into electric signals and applying image processing to the signals. SOLUTION: A microscope section 314 is provided with plural objective lenses 301 selected by a revolver 302, and a camera box or the like containing an RGB Bayer arrangement CCD 305. The RGB Bayer arrangement CCD 305 is placed at a focal position of the eyepiece lens 303 and converts images picked up with plural magnification factors as to the same object through the use of the objective lens 301 into electric signals, which are stored in the image memory 311 via the system bus 309 or the like in the main body 315. The images with plural magnification factors stored in the image memory 311 are composited so as to generate a still image with higher resolution than that from the image at a highest magnification factor among plural different magnification factors. |
