<p>The invention is directed to a surgical apparatus which includes a housing (1), a diaphragm (14) adapted to be inflated substantially circumferentially around the housing, and a manipulator (3) guided within the housing, and adapted to extend substantially longitudinally from the housing. The manipulator rotates and reciprocates relative to the housing. The invention is also directed to a method of performing laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomies using the apparatus.</p> |
