<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the position of a steering wheel in the case of maintaining in the straight driving state even when a gap is generated in the relation of a steering angle to a steered angle. <P>SOLUTION: When the steering angleθS steered by vehicle speed V and a steering wheel 1 is detected and the steering angleθS is less than the prescribed angleθ<SB>1</SB>, an electric motor 9 in the steering angle ratio varying mechanism 3 is controlled to drive based on the steering angle ratio RMAX fixed at the maximum value of the low-speed side, and the steering angle ratio is controlled based on the vehicle speed V when it is steered exceeding the prescribed angleθ<SB>1</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
