An elasticized web (10) comprises a first gatherable substrate (12) and a multistrand elastic yarn (14) affixed to the first substrate at a number of first fixation locations (16). At each first fixation location, a portion of the first gatherable substrate passes between strands (18) of the multi-strand elastic yarn. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a disposable absorbent article comprising an absorbent structure having a crotch region and region(s) comprising elasticized web; (b) a method of manufacturing an elasticized web comprising introducing multi-strand elastic yarn to gatherable substrate, subjecting multi-strand elastic yarn and substrate at each first fixation location to a source of energy to cause at least partial delamination of the multi-strand elastic yarn, and causing a portion of the substrate to pass between strands of multistrand elastic yarn at each first fixation location; and (c) apparatus for manufacturing elasticized web comprising a fixation station, first and second feeding devices, source of energy, and displacement device. |
