PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compsn. for nonconductive light shielding layers which facilitates the uniform dispersion of light shieldable pigments, is stable for a long period, is excellent in light shieldability and black degree and is suitable for production of nonconductive light shielding layers and the nonconductive light shielding layer and color filters manufactured by using the compsn. SOLUTION: This compsn. for the nonconductive light shielding layers comprises composite metal oxide particles consisting essentially of an alkali- soluble binder of an average mol.wt. of 2000 to 20,000, a photopolymerizable monomer, a coating film property improving agent, a photopolymerization initiator, a pigment and a solvent and contg. at least five metal among copper, manganese, iron, zinc and zirconium. The nonconductive light shielding layers are formed with patterns by applying the compsn. for the nonconductive light shielding layers described above on a substrate and drying the coating, then subjecting the coating to at least pattern exposure and development processing. The color filters are provided with black matrices consisting of red, green and blue pixels and the nonconductive light shielding layers described above. |
