SOLUTION: The cleaning device 17 is provided with the cleaning blade 21 for removing the toner remaining on a photoreceptor 1 in contact with the photoreceptor 1, a swinging mechanism 23 for swinging the cleaning blade 21 in the longitudinal direction of the photoreceptor 1, and a carrying screw 25 for carrying the toner removed by the cleaning blade 21 along the longitudinal direction of the cleaning blade 21. In this case, the end margin D of the cleaning blade 21 is controlled to project from the boundary of the image width A of the photoreceptor 1 within an extent >=3 mm and >=6 mm.
