PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent short circuit by comprising a fold back part for preventing the deviation of an electrode leading part formed on at least only a part of the top end as a separator, and folding back the fold back part to prevent the deviation of the electrode leading part. SOLUTION: The electric double layer capacitor uses a separator 1 having a size enough to perfectly cover the entire electrode made from a collector 4 and a polarizable sheet or a collector 4 and polarizable sheets laid on both sides of the collector 4 when the separator is folded along a center line off from a fold back part 2. In assembling this capacitor, the separator 1 is folded back along a center line at its hold back point 3, it is held by the separator with an electrode leading part 5 located opposite to the fold back part 2, the fold back part 2 is folded back and welded thermally or by a pressure, and the electric double layer capacitors are laminated with the electrode leading parts 5 alternately located and compressively housed in a case. |
