The coefficients of a first tree structure are calculated from the data points of a received sequence of data, and the layers of the tree structure are determined. The coefficients of a second tree structure are calculated from the coefficients of one of the layers of the first tree structure, and the layers of the second tree structure are determined, sorted and stored for reconstructing the sequence of data. An Independent claim is also included for a data compressing device.
