PURPOSE: A multi-domain liquid crystal display is provided to minimize a disclination line region to produce a multi-domain liquid crystal display having high aperture rate. CONSTITUTION: A multi-domain liquid crystal display includes the first and second substrates(100,300), a plurality of gate lines and data lines(140) formed on the first substrate, intersecting each other, to define pixel regions, a thin film transistor formed at each of intersections of the gate lines and data lines, a pixel electrode(200) connected to the thin film transistor and formed at each of the pixel regions, and a light shielding layer(320) formed on the second substrate, a color filter layer(340) formed on the light shielding layer, a common electrode(360) formed on the color filter layer, an alignment film(500) formed on the at least one of the first and second substrates, and a liquid crystal layer formed between the two substrates. The alignment film has a plurality of orientation directions in order to divide one pixel into multiple domains. |
