PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve many pieces of cooking information stored in a storage medium on a printed matter, and display cooking information once selected on the printed matter on a display means of a cooking instrument without any labor. SOLUTION: Objective cooking information is displayed on the display means 5 from cooking information stored in the storage medium 2 by writing on the printed matter 6 only a point required for retrieval of many pieces of the cooking information stored in the storage medium 2 and inputting only point information selected from the printed matter 6. Hereby, the number of pages of the printed matter 6 concerning the cooking information is reduced, and when the foregoing retrieval step is performed with the printed matter 6 and the cooking information is displayed on the display means 5 of the cooking instrument in the foregoing cooking step, there is eliminated the need of executing retrieval again following a hierarchy with retrieval means of the cooking instrument, and the purposed cooking information can be displayed with ease, and further retrieval on the printed matter following an increase of the amount of information is achieved more simply.
