PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use one side plate both for the clockwise rotation and counterclockwise rotation. SOLUTION: The vane pump device consists of a rotor 4 connected to a rotation shaft 5 to be driven to rotate, a vane 3 attached to the rotor 4 to be moved in the radial direction, a cam ring 2 mounted on the outside of the vane 3 for contributing to the formation of a pump room, and a side plate 1 mounted on the side of the cam ring 2, the vane 2 and the rotor 4 for contributing to the formation of the pump room. In the vane pump device, the side plate l, which is basically in the disk shape, consists of two intake port parts 11 and 11' to be symmetrically formed, two outlet port parts 15 and 15' made of circular-arc grooves, and a back pressure groove 13 for a vane made of a circumferential groove.
