<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system which is capable of simultaneously executing a default setting operation and a test printing of a printing device by transmitting a single printing job from a printing job transmitting device. <P>SOLUTION: The printing device operates as follows: a printing job is received (YES of S201); a header part is analyzed to judge whether the job is a default setting print (S203); when it is the default setting print (YES of S204), default setting is acquired from the command part (S205) and is updated (S206).
