<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight defence gear which achieves a lighter weight especially by varying the thickness of a pad used between sites subject to smashing or thrusting and other sites. <P>SOLUTION: In the defence gear receiving smashing or thrusting, valid sites receiving smashing or thrusting or the sites the least exposed to such smashing or thrusting is given a less of the material forming pads for the defence gears to reduce the weight thereof. To be more specific, all or some of the face and body guards, gauntlets and flaps making up the defence gears of the kendo are involved and for example, when reducing the weight of the gauntlets, the material of the pad for the defence gear forming the left-hand gauntlet is decreased substantially as compared with that for the right-hand gauntlet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
