PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To house an electrode body in which a separator is interposed and wound around between a positive electrode and a negative electrode using a hydrogen storage alloy in a battery can together with an alkaline electrolytic solution, and to simply detect a charged state of a nickel hydrogen battery in which an opening part of this battery can is closed by a sealing body by the battery single body without using equipment other than the battery. SOLUTION: In the nickel hydrogen storage battery in which the electrode body 10 in which the separator 13 is interposed and wound around between the positive electrode 11 and the negative electrode 12 using hydrogen storage alloy is housed in the battery can 20 together with the alkaline electrolytic solution and in which the opening part of this battery can is closed by the sealing body 30, a movable body 16 is made to be movably housed in a space part 10a at the center of the electrode body so that the movable body 16 is made to be fixed in a fixed charged state or more.
