An air conditioner having a screen member is provided to prevent physical contact between the user and an ion generator and to facilitate air flow discharged via a discharge port by allowing the screen member to cover the size of the ion generator. An air conditioner comprises a body unit, a discharge port(15), an ion generator(40), and a screen member(50). The body unit is provided with a heat exchanger, a blower unit, and an air cleaning unit therein. The discharge port is formed on the body unit for the discharge of conditioned air. The ion generator is installed inside the discharge port. The screen member is installed near the ion generator between the ion generator and the discharge port to prevent physical contact between the user and the ion generator.
