<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording on a reversible heat-sensitive recording medium capable of shortening a recording time, eliminating shift of developed color tone, realizing a desired developed color by easy temperature control and recording a combination of a plurality of developed colors by easy temperature control. <P>SOLUTION: The reversible heat-sensitive recording medium having a recording layer 12 containing a liquid crystal material capable of fixing a selective reflection state by rapidly cooling the liquid crystal material from the state where the material is in the state of a liquid crystal phase showing a cholesteric liquid crystal phase by heating and changes the wavelengths of the selective reflection light corresponding to temperatures, is preheated up to a temperature less than that the liquid crystal material develops a desired color. The recording media is further heated up to a temperature temporarily and rapidly to develop the desired color and then suddenly cooled down to develop/fix color of the liquid crystal material to form images. An operation to move the recording media in one direction relatively to one heating means is repeated more than twice to form images and energy applied from the heating means may be varied for each recording operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
