<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a printer in which the intensity of reflected light being received by a light receiving sensor can be regulated more conveniently, a method for judging dot formation, a computer program, a recording medium, and a computer system. <P>SOLUTION: In the printer where printing is performed by forming dots on an object being printed using a print head, light is emitted toward the object being printed, reflected light from the object being printed is received by a light receiving sensor, and a decision is made whether the dots are formed normally or not by comparing the output level from the light receiving sensor corresponding to the intensity of reflected light thus received with a threshold level, intensity of reflected light received by the light receiving sensor is regulated by varying the distance between the light receiving sensor and the object being printed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
