<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer in which a desired print condition file can be selected readily from a memory card storing a plurality of print condition files. <P>SOLUTION: The printer having an external interface being fixed removably with a storage medium for storing a print layout setting script and a corresponding image comprises means for reading out the print layout setting script from the storage medium when it is fixed to the external interface, means for interpreting the print layout setting script thus read out and registering a specified print layout setting script conforming to hardware specification data stored in the printer, means for selecting a specified print layout setting script from the print layout setting scripts thus registered, and means for outputting an image corresponding to the specified print layout setting script thus selected to an external display. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
