PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter produceable at a low cost while keeping excellent electromagnetic wave shielding effect and near infrared ray shielding effect. SOLUTION: The optical filter 10 for a display, which is arranged on the front surface P of the display, has an electromagnetic wave shielding layer 15, a selective reflection layer 17 consisting of a solidified polymer layer having a cholesteric liquid crystal structure and a near infrared absorption layer 16 consisting of a transparent resin layer, in which a near infrared absorption pigment is dispersed, in the constituent layer thereof. As a result, the optical filter can be produced at a low cost by reducing the amount of the near infrared absorption pigment to be used while keeping excellent electromagnetic wave shielding effect and near infrared ray shielding effect.
