FIELD: engines and pumps. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises measuring and recording engine and engine components vibration and rotors rpm in the form of amplitude-frequency spectrum of harmonic components. It comprises, further on, isolating the frequency of the first rotor harmonic in said spectrum to determine availability of defects and their belonging to particular components. Defect is disclosed by appearance of "splitting" of spectrum components in the frequencies of first rotors harmonics. Note here that shafts contact is also revealed. ^ EFFECT: possibility to reveal contact of shafts in multi-shaft has turbine engine in operation or tests without breaking down engine. ^ 2 dwg
