<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup drive with which the information regarding the positional control of an objective lens is accurately obtainable without splitting luminous flux emitted from a light source and also without introducing the increase of scale and cost. <P>SOLUTION: The information regarding the positional control of the objective lens is accurately obtainable even though the split optical element is driven by being linked with the objective lens by furnishing an optical system including: a split optical element 57 having a plurality of splitting areas to split the return luminous flux into the plurality of luminous flux and also to branch the plurality of split luminous flux from an optical path of the return luminous flux while being arranged on the optical path of the return luminous flux reflected on a recording surface; a 1st photodetector for receiving at least one split luminous flux among the plurality of split luminous flux; and a 2nd photodetector 59d for receiving at least one split luminous flux on a splitting line among the remaining split luminous flux. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
