<p>1505688 Non-linear digital-to-analogue converter NIPPON GAKKI SEIZO KK 22 Oct 1975 [24 Oct 1974] 43406/75 Heading H3H In a non linear d-to-a converter switching means 13-0 to 13-n, which may be FET's, are responsive to the control outputs 12-0 to 12-n of decoder to switch output points 0 to n of an exponential function generator 14 of the resistance ladder type where R 2 = R 2 ( 1 + R 2 /R 1 ) to a common output line. In the embodiment having m binary inputs the decoder has n + 1 = 2<SP>m</SP> outputs and exponentially related voltages are produced at the (n + 1) outputs. In a second embodiment (fig. 4, not shown) the decoder and function generator are both split in two, the analog output of the first generator serving as the voltage source of the second generator through a buffer amplifier. The converter's use in an electronic musical instrument is mentioned (fig. 5, not shown).</p> |
