摘要 |
PURPOSE:To improve connection strength greatly without sticking impurity from an electrode on a connection part by arranging an insulator between an optical fiber to be connected and the electrode, and performing discharge while shielding the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The shield insulator 4 such as a quartz fiber is arranged between the optical fiber 2 to be connected and discharge electrode 1 in parallel to the optical fiber 2. When discharge is carried out in this state, heating temperature is not affected at all because the shield part is small and impurities of tungsten produced from the electrode 1 are cut off by the insulator 4. Consequently, the sticking of impurities on the connection part is prevented and the mean connection strength is >=5kg and improved greatly as compared with conventional 3kg. |
