PURPOSE:To mechanically detect the direction and polarity of a battery by installing a notch or hole in at least one part of the periphery of the battery, or by making at least one corner different from other corners of the battery. CONSTITUTION:When a notch 2 of a battery 1 locates in front of a center line (x), it shows that the tip of an arrow showing the direction points the rear. When the notch 2 locates in the rear of the center line (x), it shows that the tip of an arrow points the front. When the notch 2 locates in right periphery of the battery 1 and in front of the center line (x) and when it locates in the left periphery and in the rear of the center line (x), the upper side is a positive electrode and the lower side is a negative electrode. When the notch 2 locates in the right periphery of the battery 1 and in the rear of the center line (x) and when it locates in the left periphery and in front of the center line (x), the upper side is the negative electrode and the lower side is the positive electrode. By mechanically detecting the position of the notch of the notch 2, the direction and polarity of the battery are judged. |
