PURPOSE:To facilitate the adjustment of various parameters attended with zoom fluctuation operation without causing optical axis deviation by providing a couple of polarized light means, an optical path synthesis means, a polarized light switching means and a common optical means. CONSTITUTION:Light beams 41, 42 from two left/right directions from an observation object 1 pass through light polarization means 61, 62, in which the light is polarized so that the polarized direction is different. The light passing through the light polarization means 61, 62 is led to an optical path synthesis means 7, in which the light beams are synthesized to have the same optical axis 8, the resulting light passes through a polarized light switching means 9, and is led to an image pickup element 12 such as a TV camera. The polarized light switching means 9 reaches the state of passing only the longitudinally polarized light component in the light from, e.g. the optical path synthesis means 7 and the state of passing the laterally polarized component only. When the changeover timing is synchronized with a field rate of the TV camera, the video image of the observation object viewed with a different parallax from each field is picked up. Thus, no optical axis deviation takes place and the adjustment of various parameters attended with the fluctuation of zoom is facilitated. |
