<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a natural and easy-to-use interface by simulating a virtual world like a desk overed with the documents with use of a small and approximately flat display unit which can be held by hand easily moved like a magnifying glass. CONSTITUTION:An absolute position calculator 10 calculates the spatial position of a data display unit 2 based on the data given from a position/direction sensor 3. The digital data is obtained by recording and scanning the documents via an image scanner 13 serving as an input device or the data is obtained from another information source like a memory device or a system. When a user searches the documents, the user moves the unit 2 like a magnifying glass. Then the unit 2 is moved to a position where the documents contained in a simulated virtual world are previously recorded with designation. Thus even the unsystemized documents can be stored and retrieved with high efficiency in a natural and easy scan. No limitation is applied as to the number of documents that can be displayed on a screen.</p> |
