PURPOSE:To photograph every one of plural objects at different positions in a distance direction in focus by automatically set the diaphragm of a lens so that the image of at least two objects out of the objects positioned in plural focus detecting areas may be formed in the depth of focus. CONSTITUTION:Plural focus detecting means are provided so that they may correspond to the plural focus detecting areas whose set positions are different from each other, and a depth of focus adjusting means is provided, which automatically set the diaphragm of the photographing lens so that the image of at least two objects out of the objects positioned in the plural focus detecting areas may be formed in the depth of focus. First, the control of diaphragm is performed by obtaining a depth priority F number by the use of the defocusing quantity DFd of a main object and a sub object obtained by focus detecting action. Next, the control of a lens position is performed by obtaining a correction defocusing quantity DFc by the use of the obtained depth priority F number. Thus, the photograph is taken in focus for the plural objects at different positions in the distance direction without necessitating a troublesome operation. |
