PURPOSE:To protect the wall face of a dye cell from burning by a method wherein a dye solution and a protective solution are made different from each other in concentration or viscosity, and the dye solution is made to flow through the center of the dye cell and the protective solution is made to flow along the wall face of the dye cell. CONSTITUTION:A dye solution 2 and a protective solution 3 are made to flow into a dye cell 1, which serves as a reaction section where light is made to impinge to start a laser oscillation or to amplify laser rays, through a circulating pump 4. A mixed solution 5 flowing out of the dye cell 1 is separated into the solutions 2 and 3 through a separator 6. At this point, as the solutions 2 and 3 are made different from each other in specific gravity or viscosity, the solutions 2 and 3 can be easily separated from each other, and the solutions 2 and 3 are kept in reservoirs 7 and 8 respectively and made to flow into the dye cell 1. The solution 2 is made to flow in through an inlet provided to the center of the dye cell 1 and the solution 3 is made to flow in through inlets provided to the sides of the dye cell 1. When exciting light is made to impinge on the dye cell 1, as no dye is present at the wall face 13, the wall face 13 can be protected from burning. |
