PURPOSE:To generate a character pattern of high quality by including a flag which indicates whether or not a coordinate point is a point constituting the contour of the character pattern, the absolute coordinate values of a reference point, and relative coordinate values or the absolute coordinate values of the reference point. CONSTITUTION:The English letter 'H' is represented as coordinate values of plural points obtained by expanding the coordinate values of a control point starting at the coordinate values of coordinates A1 (coordinate reference point) with vectors. Coordinates points A1 and A1 are coordinate reference points which are not included in the contour constituting the character, namely, the flag which indicates whether or not they are points constituting the contour of the character pattern is OFF. In this case, only those coordinate reference points are represented as the absolute coordinate values of (X, Y). Consequently, a character in a complicate shape can be outputted with high quality over a wide character size range without any deterioration in the quality even after enlargement, reduction, or deformation arithmetic by making the segments uniform in thickness and holding symmetry of the segments. |
