Infectious medical wastes such as injection needles are crushed to shapeless fine pieces and put into a mixer together with powdery catalysts, and heated to 180 DEG C or higher with heat generated by heating means and frictional heat caused by stirring in the mixer. Heat exceeding 180 DEG C sterilizes the infectious wastes. Powdery catalysts heated to 160 DEG C or higher absorb an offensive smell or poisonous gas emitting from said wastes. Thus, sterilization and absorption of poisonous gas can be attained at the same time and products discharged from the mixer can be utilized as aggregates for concrete.

|
