A small fluid power cylinder for motor vehicle door fastening systems etc. has a housing (5) with working space (10) in which slides a sealed piston (6) and attached piston rod (7). Projecting from the end of the housing is a nipple (22) on which a pipe length (2) for the passage of air or hydraulic oil is securely fastened by plastic deformation of a compression sleeve (23) or by adhesive. The nipple forms part of a base plug (20) sealing off the end of the cylinder and being secured by a plastic deformation process.
