<p>A turning bearing mechanism (14) for a main shaft head serving as a universal head (15), which is required to provide a satisfactory torque as a driving system for turnably driving the heavy universal head and to afford a mechanical rigidity satisfactory to a turning shaft. Therefore, the turning bearing mechanism in which a static bearing (12) and a large diameter transmitting member (24) are provided to a turnably supporting shaft (10), which is provided with a lubricant supply device (30) and being highly rigid and free from a twist of a piping can be realized. The invention is most suitably used as the main shaft head, a so-called universal head of a machine tool such as a five-surface working machine.</p> |
