PURPOSE:To obtain a glass mat excellent in heat resistance and flame resistance. CONSTITUTION:This heat-resistant glass mat consists of a glass mat 3 comprising a glass fiber 2 and a hardened body or foamed body 4 of an inorg. silicate polymer essentially comprising inorg. silicate which intrudes into the glass mat body 3 and covers the mat. Heat resistance and flame resistance of a glass mat which is inferior in heat resistance and flame resistance are significantly improved. With intrinsic thermal insulating property and sound absorbing property of a glass mat, this glass mat can be used for such purposes as heat- resistant and refractroy material. |
