Knee joint prosthetic set

The prosthesis consists of a femoral implant and a tibial implant in the form of a polyethylene plate (1) fitted in combination with a metal base (2) which has a guide and coupling element (2a) engaging with a corresponding slot (1a) in the plate by a simple sliding movement from the anterior edge of the base. The plate and base have coaxial holes for a fixing screw (3). The underside of the base has a hollow central projection (2d) which is aligned with the coaxial holes and designed to engage with a stabiliser (4) which is threaded to receive the fixing screw. The base has two holes (2f) to receive expansion plugs or osteosynthesis screws. <IMAGE>
