PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser device which can prevent heavy wear-out of a preliminary ionizing pin for causing discharging operation to radiate ultraviolet light for preliminary ionization of a gas laser due to concentrated electric field. SOLUTION: Edge parts 11 of an end face of a preliminary ionizing pin 3 where an electric field is expected to be concentrated are covered with an insulator 15. Since the edge parts 11 are covered with the insulator 15, discharge concentration can be avoided. The intensity of the electric field on a surface of the pin not covered with the insulator 15 is even and discharge takes place in the even electric field. Thus concentrated discharge can be avoided and wear-out of the preliminary ionizing pin can be avoided. |
