The condenser has an array of tubes (1) connected between two collecting bottles (3, 4). The collecting bottles are vertical and the tubes horizontal. The refrigerant enters the radiator through an inlet chamber (13) formed in the lower part (17) of one of the collecting bottles (3). The refrigerant flows across the radiator and is collected in an outlet chamber (16) formed in the upper part (12) of the other collecting bottle, entering through a coupling tube (21). The liquid and gaseous phases are separated by gravitation effects. The outlet for the condensate is at the bottom of the collecting bottle where the liquid has accumulated.
