Static variator providing adjustable output voltage derived from mains supply

The static variator comprises a filtering cell (1), a full wave rectification cell (3) and a switching regulator (5) which provides a voltage which is presented as a succession of portions of sine wave at the switching frequency. The maximum amplitude of these portions of sine wave depends on the value of a control voltage. A synchronisation module (4) provides a signal at each zero crossing of the input voltage. An H-shaped bridge (6) receives the regulator signal for switching and is controlled by the synchronisation module (4) in order to reconstitute the sinusoidal input signal to a value which is adjustable between zero and the input voltage.
