Thin structure production by electromagnetic ribbon technique

A method of producing thin material structures uses an electrically conductive molten zone (2) of the material which has its size and position fixed by inductively created repulsive forces between the molten zone and a shaping tool (1) such that the molten zone is not in contact with the tool. Also claimed are (i) a thin structure which has been subjected to contact-free shaping by the above method; and (ii) an apparatus for producing thin structures by the above method.
