PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleeve refractory for waste steel discharge capable of preventing a slide valve device or a lower nozzle (bottom) from ingot adhesion when waste steel in such a cast container as a continuous casting tundish is discharged, as well as reusable in the hot cast container.

SOLUTION: The sleeve refractory for waste steel discharge is characterized by that its thermal conductivity at 200°C ranges from 0.5 W/mK to 1.2 W/mK.
