<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin sphere suitable for a heat storage material, a heat storage material using the resin sphere, their manufacturing methods, a heat storage medium composed of the heat storage material and a dispersion medium and a heating, and cooling method having excellent energy efficiency using the heat storage material. <P>SOLUTION: The resin sphere comprises an outer thin and compact layer having micro pores of ≤0.5 μm and an internal layer with a net-like porous structure having micro pores of 1-100 μm in contact with the above layer, where the void ratio of the above net porous structure is 50-95%. The heat storage material is prepared by combining the above resin sphere and a heat storage component, which changes phase with temperature. The heat storage medium is composed of the above heat storage material and a dispersion medium. The resin sphere is prepared by dissolving a resin in a polar organic solvent to be a source solution for granulating and by dropping the source solution from a nozzle into a coagulation medium which mixes with the above polar organic solvent but does not dissolve the above resin. The heat storage material is prepared by incorporating a heat storage component in the resin sphere. The heating and cooling procedure can be performed with good energy efficiency by combining the above heat storage material and a dispersion medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
