<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new protein having an activity of exchange transport of K<SP>+</SP>ion and Na<SP>+</SP>ion, a DNA encoding the protein, a method for screening a compound promoting or inhibiting the activity of the protein and a compound obtained through the method for screening. <P>SOLUTION: The protein described in the invention is useful for a diagnostic marker for heart disease, kidney disease, central nervous disease, inflammatory disease, autoimmune disease, allergic disease, thymic disease, splenic disease, immune deficiency, genital disease and/or immunological rejection after organ transplantation. The compound prompting or inhibiting the activity of the protein obtained by the method for screening using the protein is allowed to be used as a preventing agent, a therapeutic agent and an inhibitor for the diseases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
