PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium to be recorded which can be recorded on entire width thereof, wherein a portion of a platen not carrying the medium is recorded, a platen portion supporting the medium is not burnt and an ink is prevented from attaching to it. SOLUTION: A width W1 in one direction of a tape TP to be recorded by a thermal head HD is greater than a recording width W3 of the thermal head HD in the same direction. A width W2 of an effective recording region which is set beforehand in the same direction of the tape TP is set to be smaller than the recording width W3 of the thermal head HD. As a result, the tape TP is disposed in a portion opposite to the thermal head HD, so that the thermal head HD does not record a portion of a platen 4 supporting the tape TP. |
