PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the pain to be given to a patient at the time of pricking and to assure the improved flow of the blood from a pricking flaw by disposing a 30-gage stylet extending by the predetermined distance from the terminal part of a cylindrical housing having a base end and the terminal part in this housing. SOLUTION: The shielded lancet assembly has a lancet assembly 20 with an attachable and detachable cap, i.e., a shield 100 to be coupled to the 30-gage stylet 55 in order to protect a user therefrom. This assembly 20 has the cylindrical housing 25 and is projectingly provided with an annular flange 45 in the intermediate part. The outside wall 40 thereof is projectingly provided with plural longitudinal ribs 50, 51. The 30-gage stylet 55 is adhered into the lancet assembly 20 in such a manner that its sharpened end point 58 extends from the terminal bottom 35 of the lancet assembly 20. The 30-gage stylet is lubricated to improve the flow of the blood from the pricking part. |
