摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of obtaining uniform luminance and contrast over the entire display area without dispersion in lens characteristics even in the case of being provided with a microlens manufactured through an etching process. SOLUTION: An opposing substrate 2 disposed opposingly to a TFT array substrate 1 where TFT, a scanning line and a data line 35, etc., are formed is constituted of a base substrate 2a and cover glass 2b, and as for the base substrate 2a, the microlens 62 is formed through an etching processing after heat-treating a photosensitive material provided on the base substrate 2a in a projected shape. Then, the microlens 62 is provided not only on the positions corresponding to the opening area of respective picture elements but also on the lower position of a peripheral partition 53 for stipulating the display area as a dummy microlens.
